About The Matthew Wallace Foundation ®

Matthew Wallace was born on August 6, 1996. He is the middle of three children: his sister Hailey and brother Mark. As a child Matthew exhibited nothing but happiness and joy. As a teenager, his charm could melt glaciers and he became known for his quirky sense of humor. However, his moral compass and religious dedication grew even stronger as he became a young man. 

Matthew attended St. Barnabas School from PreK3 to 8th grade. Matty attained numerous academic awards, certificates and science fair commendations. Matty became a Cub Scout at the age of 4 and earned numerous badges and awards. Prior to his ascension to the Boy Scouts, he was awarded the highest Cub Scout honor: the Arrow of Light award. As a Boy Scout, he achieved and received one of the most prestigious religious awards by the Boy Scouts of America: the Ad Altare Dei, which was presented by Cardinal Timothy Dolan at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. 

Matthew enjoyed playing sports and at the age of 4 joined the All Yonkers Soccer League and the Wood-lean Boys and Girls Club where he played basketball and later baseball, and East Yonkers Baseball. At the age of 7, Matthew became an Eastchester Blue Devil. These teams and experiences helped Matthew foster his sense of identity as a dedicated and driven athlete. Matthew learned the importance of camaraderie and would continue to display unprecedented loyalty and dedication to his teammates for the rest of his athletic career. He also performed strongly as an equestrian champion from the age of 5 and a junior golfer with the First Tee program at the age of 6. 

At age 13 he graduated from St. Barnabas School and advanced to Mount Saint Michael Academy. At the Mount, Matthew continued to excel in both academics and athletics. He strove to become an exceptional student and was named Captain of the football team as well as Captain of the lacrosse team. Always seeking a challenge, Matthew became enamored with lacrosse and proved to be a remarkable player. Matthew also exhibited a keen interest in politics and was able to offer informed, constructive commentary on world events and history. He was looking forward to college and was being recruited to play D1 lacrosse.
